Starry Night at Aletsch Glacier

Another view from the glacier. In the last post there were some images from the lower part of the Aletsch Glacier, this time is from the upper part. From here you can reach the famous Jungfraujoch, and find worldwide tourists who came up with the train.

The last photo tells a lot about global warming. The hut was built in 1877, at that moment people could reach the hut by hiking on the glacier without climb up the hanging stairs (see the last picture). Since then the glacier lost 150 meters in height and now it loose 50 meters every year in lenght. It's impressive to see how much impact we human beings have done on the nature.

Wish you all a good week.
